Research and Data about the COVID-19 Corona virus
Coronavirus COVID-19 is novel, it’s a new disease (virus) and therefore needless to say that there are a lot of sites giving information about the data concerning COVID-19 (Coronavirus). However I will try to give the ones that are either most read or most popular, not to forget reliable. Therefore I will try to “filter” the ones that are too vague or unreliable or those that give fake information about the novel Coronavirus COVID-19. Off course any suggestions are welcome via the form that can be found at the bottom of this page. On the right an easy to understand video on how the virus works and how our immune system fights it.

Coronavirus COVID-19 (medical) Research
(part outdated and will be updated soon)
Not officially published yet or in progress (thus not fully reliable and NOT VERIFIED!):
- Corona FAST TESTS, none of them officially approved though as of the 1st of November 2020, are slowly coming to the market now. Different countries are finding/working on solutions that can give results within 15-60 seconds. Here are some links to those tests: FINLAND | NETHERLANDS | AUSTRALIA | SINGAPORE. Some information about these tests can be found here and here and many other places if you google it.
- Find the latest early-stage and peer-reviewed research on COVID-19 from journals including The Lancet and Cell Press on the website of Elsevier as well as some more general information here in several languages.
- Unique discovery in Erasmus MC: antibody against corona, see here
- Researchers from the Radboud University in the Netherlands (Radboudumc) published new insights into COVID-19. They seem to have found an essential mechanism in the disease process of Covid-19, which has so far been overlooked. If the insight is correct, it probably has important consequences for the treatment of the (Coronavirus / COVID-19) disease. check the full report here
- On the 11th of April the World Health Organization (WHO) released a DRAFT landscape of COVID-19 candidate vaccines, it can be found here. It means that scientists worldwide are working on a total of seventy candidate vaccines against COVID-19. Three of the Corona vaccines are already being tested on humans. Updated version of April 23rd and their latest R&D Blueprint

- NIH panel recommends against drug combination promoted by Trump for COVID-19, read about it here.
- Clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of adults hospitalised with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are being done as currently extremely limited clinical data supporting its effectiveness is available. See here for a specific trial.
- Some information about the “famous” French virologist Didier Raoult here, but look also here and here to see that some countries have stopped using it because of important side-effects. As well as here where the South China Morning Post writes an interesting article about it.
- An overview of the Chinese literature on corona can be found at The Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure. Some articles are in English but most is in Chinese)
- Interesting, but a lot of reading, are all the drug testings (60+) that are done in correlation with COVID-19, have a look here.
Officially published:
- As we are in the early stages of the pandemic not a lot of research is officially published yet. That is also why so many “fake” news or so called research is spoken about that would cure the COVID-19. But the fact is we simply do not know yet what all the facets are of this virus, the more studies that will be done, the more we will know.
Research that needs people to perform them:
- Probably one of the best sites to present the information in my opinion is “All of Our World in Data*”. Some of their data and charts with direct links to them:
